Colon Hydrotherapy

Colon Hydrotherapy

What is a Colonic?

Colon cleansing, also known as colon therapy, or colon hydrotherapy, or a colonic, or colonic irrigation encompasses a number of alternative medical therapies claimed to remove unspecified toxins from the colon and intestinal tract by removing supposed accumulations of feces. Colon cleansing in this context should not be confused with an enema which introduces fluid into the colon, often under mainstream medical supervision, for a limited number of purposes including severe constipation and medical imaging.

Some forms of colon hydrotherapy use tubes to inject water, sometimes mixed with herbs or with other liquids, into the colon via the rectum using special equipment. Oral cleaning regimes use dietary fiber, herbs, dietary supplements, or laxatives. Those who practice colon cleansing believe in autointoxication, that accumulations of putrefied feces line the walls of the large intestine and that these accumulations harbor parasites or pathogenic gut flora, causing nonspecific symptoms and general ill-health.

Where is your Colon Located?

The colon is also called the large intestine. The ileum (last part of the small intestine) connects to the cecum (first part of the colon) in the lower right abdomen. The rest of the colon is divided into four parts: The ascending colon travels up the right side of the abdomen.

How Long is your Colon and Width?

The colon is only 6 feet (1.8 m) long. These 6 feet of dense muscle is divided 4 parts: the ascending colon, the transverse colon, the descending colon and the sigmoid colon.

How many pounds of poop can your body hold?

We have anywhere from six to forty pounds of waste, feces and undigested food stuck in our bodies. Another one compares the weight of the waste to carrying a bowling ball in our gut which is around 21 pounds at its max.

What are the benefits of Colonic/Colon Hydrotherapy?

Practitioners boast a variety of supposed health benefits, including removing toxins from the body, improving the immune system, helping with weight loss, improving digestion, boosting mood, and even reducing the risk of colon cancer.

Colonic and Skincare

We’ve been hearing from more and more women that their glowing skin isn’t just about the radiance-boosting skin-care serums they’re slathering on—it’s the result of paying attention to a rather different organ. We’re talking about colonics (and your back door). Practitioners and devotees say that regular sessions with the hose have cleared up their acne, psoriasis, and eczema, and even a single session can produce a glow.

How often should you get a Colonic?

The first 6 to 7 should be done weekly for the first 7 weeks.  After that it recommends every month or every 3 months when the season changes, depending on your lifestyle.
